Ela has a passion for authentic music from the great jazz era, singing exclusively jazz and bossa nova. She takes inspiration from the greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker, Joao Gilberto to name a few – trying to find in her voice the things she admires in theirs – depth, emotion, tone, subtlety, nuance, pitch accuracy while still being rhythmically ‘in the pocket’ and the other important feature – fun, that’s a must!
