Saxophonist Andy Panayi and trumpeter Chris Coull team up to lead an all-star line-up playing music from Oliver Nelson’s seminal jazz album “The Blues and the Abstract Truth” and the follow-up album “More Blues and the Abstract Truth”.

The Blues and the Abstract Truth album seamlessly blends sophistication with emotional depth. Released in 1961, it features intricate arrangements, memorable melodies, and a stellar ensemble, making it a timeless classic in the world of jazz.

Chris’s band features acclaimed musicians including Karen Sharp (baritone sax), Andy Panayi (alto sax), Sam Miles (tenor sax), John Donaldson (piano), Joe Edwards (drums), and Paul Whitten (bass).

Nelson’s intricate arrangements suit this four-horn line-up whilst giving space for individual improvisations. This will be a superb jazz concert performed by consummate musicians.
