A sublime fusion of Oliver Nelson’s writing & improvising flare, were brought together in this ‘must have’ record in any jazz aficionado’s collection. The original 7 piece line up is led by Andy Panayi (alto sax), and co-bandleader Chris Coull (trumpet) plus UK heavyweight saxes; Sammy Mayne & Alan Barnes. Rhythm section is John Donaldson (piano, of Freddie Hubbard fame) Paul Whitten (bassist for the late, great Chet Baker) and up and coming drummer Joe Edwards.
